This course covers selection and installation of sustainable building exterior products, selection and use of proper coating mastics and sealants, an overview of Xactimate for insurance paid contracting, insurance audits and required insurance certificates, commercial use of drones, and energy code compliance.

Since 1997, Alden Pearson has been trying cases as lead attorney before the state and federal courts in Minnesota and, more recently, Wisconsin. His phenomenal success rate of cases won or settled generally involve business disputes, construction or real estate subjects. Alden has been educating contractors for over a decade with practical information focused on licensing compliance, customer and subcontractor relations and the use of legal leverage to resolve disputes.
Since 1992, Jim Rosenow has been involved in the roofing industry. Jim started as a commercial roofing estimator/ project manager at Central Roofing Company. Four years later, Jim joined GAF. For 11 years Jim took on a variety of roles at GAF, through promotions, from territory manager to regional sales manager. Over those years, Jim built strong relationships with contractors to help build their businesses by providing product solutions and application improvements. Jim moved to the distribution side of the business for four years before joining Northstar Associates as a manufacturer’s representative in 2014. Jim is a MN DOLI accredited instructor and is focused on contractor training.
John Miller started in the remodeling industry in 1980 as a laborer, installing roofing, siding, windows and doors. In 1989 John’s career went from eld installation to distribution and manufacturing for five years. He sold home improvements for four years and in 1998 started with Northstar Associates as a manufacturer’s representative focused on exterior envelope products and solutions. John has been a trainer for national building products manufacturers, distributors and national contractors.
Before starting in insurance in 2007, Sean Stevens owned a remodeling company for 10 years, working in both residential and commercial remodeling. This background allows Sean to truly understand the day-to-day operations of each contractor. Sean was the construction department manager at his previous agency, and is now the president of Carlton Insurance Agency. He has been teaching CE to contractors since 2011, and holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.
